Services
LCOG’s Administrative
Services staff provides traditional management support functions. Work is
carried out in five critical areas:
Information
Services
- Financial Management
- Human Resources
- Support Services
- Property Management
Information
Services staff facilitated:
- Continued stable
operation of system,
- Network improvements
including Ethernet conversion and fiber connection to Springfield,
- Continued development
of GIS and Community Safety Data Warehouses,
- Installation of
laptops provided by the State of Oregon to support S&DS Caseworkers,
and
- Several application
development projects for LCOG members.
Financial
Management tasks included:
- Preparation and
submission to the Board of Directors of annual financial statements,
which were subsequently reviewed by independent auditors. As in past
years, the agency audit resulted in no audit findings;
- Added purchase
order processing to the computerized fiscal system;
- Expanded report
choices and access to reports in the fiscal system; and
- Reduced staff.
Human Resources staff:
- Conducted
successful negotiations with existing bargaining unit and began negotiations
with the new Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and posted
and filled 23 positions.
Support Services:
- Worked
with staff reduction while striving to continue to meet the needs of
the agency.
Property Management:
- Refinanced
three loans at lower interest rates for annual savings of $30,000.
