Information, Research and Analysis

The Information, Research and Analysis (IRA) Program applies specialized knowledge of regional data and advanced tools including geographic information systems (GIS), databases, and analytical models to support visualization and understanding of environmental, social, demographic, and spatial matters.

During the past year, IRA staff:

  • Information, Research and AnalysisAssisted in the formulation of new voter precincts based on 2000 Census redistricting;
  • Mapped metro regional parks and open space;
  • Supported Region 2050 scenario development and outreach;
  • Developed an annual evaluation for Lane County Mental Health Services' Intensive Treatment Program;
  • Initiated development of public counter web-based GIS applications for the City of Eugene;
  • Completed custom mapping and geographic analyses for the City of Eugene;
  • Created an environmental scan for the City of Springfield;
  • Prepared preliminary data for a West 11th Access Management Plan for the Oregon Department of Transportation;
  • Completed TransPlan map updates and data development for a travel demand model;
  • Assisted Emerald People’s Utility District (EPUD) with redistricting efforts;

    Completed the address-matching services, and custom mailing lists and labels for member governments and commercial customers;
  • Analyzed Lane Education Service District rural school enrollment trends;
  • Provided enrollment projection development support to Springfield School District;
  • Completed school closure project mapping and analyses for Eugene School District;
  • Developed a regional storefront website at www.laneinfo.com Web Link; and
  • Initiated a Eugene Water & Electric Board safe drinking water database design and development project.
