9-1-1 Coordination
LCOG provides 9-1-1 coordination through contracts with the three primary Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) in Lane County. LCOG coordinates on common issues such as 9-1-1 wireline and wireless routing, equipment and procedures associated with Enhanced (E) 9-1-1, Next Generation (NG) 9-1-1, legislative or rule proposals and system improvements, including implementation of NG 9-1-1 Phase II wireless, E 9-1-1 and 9-1-1 routing with Local Exchange Carriers (LEC) and Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLEC).

LCOG assists PSAP managers in maintaining state standards and administers the Emergency Communications Account that distributes funds to the PSAPs.

LCOG develops and distributes the quarterly Emergency Communications Account Reports documenting the revenue and expenditures by each PSAP. The report is also used to present yearly 9-1-1 revenue estimates for budgeting purposes and update LCOG member agencies on legislative, PUC, and other issues that impact emergency communications. LCOG also represents PSAP interest at state meetings and hearings, including the Oregon Association of Public Safety Communications Officers (APCO) and National Emergency Number Association (NENA) meetings.
