Gary Darnielle, Program Manager, is one of two attorneys in LCOG's
Legal Services Division. He is currently city attorney for Canyonville,
Oregon, assistant city attorney for Coburg, Oregon
and has been a Lane County Land Use and Infractions Hearings Official since
1983. Gary also serves as Eugene's
Infraction's Hearings Official and as Springfield's
Land Use Hearings Official for that city's urbanizable area. Since joining LCOG
in 1976, he has worked in the 208 Water Quality Program, served as Lane
County's LCDC Coordinator, and has provided current planning assistance to many
of Lane County's cities. |

Gary has a Doctor's of
Jurisprudence and Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Oregon. During winter term, he teaches
the Legal Issues course at the University
of Oregon's Planning,
Public Policy and Management (PPPM) graduate program. Each summer at the Oregon
Planning Institute, Gary
presents a course in the legal requirements of the planning office and often
hosts a training session for planning commissioners and planning staff from
around the state. email
