Mike Greenwald, Senior Transportation Planner, joined the LCOG team in February 2011.  His primary work areas are travel behavior survey analysis, statistical analysis, and greenhouse gas policy.  Previously, Mike worked as a private consultant in Washington state (where he developed GHG estimation models for King County and WashDOT), and as a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he taught land use planning and policy, statistics, and a special topics class in Smart Growth policy.

Because of his expertise, Mike has been recruited on team projects involving revising the Institute of Transportation Engineers handbook to better account for traffic effects of mixed use developments, and developing models for other MPOs looking at the effects of land use on travel mode choice.

Mike has a BA in Political Science from UCLA (1995), and a Master's and Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of California, Irvine (1997, 2001).  email
