Police Officer - City of Newport

Salary Range: $4,682.00 - $6,419.00 Monthly

The City of Newport is seeking dedicated, professional, and hard-working individuals to fill the position of Police Officer. The patrol officer is the key to the success in a police department. The attainment of the police mission depends upon how well patrol officers perform their complex and demanding jobs. Patrol officers are directly responsible for the law enforcement activities within an assigned area. They are the primary force in achieving compliance with established laws through reasonable enforcement tactics dedicated to the protection and service of each individual citizen.

Placement in the salary range will be based on the knowledge, skills, experience, training, and education of the person hired.

$2,500 sign-on bonus to be paid at the end of the first full payroll cycle.
$2,500 retention bonus paid after working 12 full months for the City of Newport.
