LCOG has provided its
member agencies with hearings officials and other legal services
since 1982. These services include deciding quasi-judicial land
use applications and adjudicating administrative law cases, including
civil infractions, the formation and assessment of local improvement
districts, and animal regulation citations. Services also entail
the provision of training to planning commissions and city councils
in areas that involve legal notice, hearing procedure, government
ethics, the Oregon Public Records Law, and the Oregon Open Meetings
Law.
LCOG staff also assists
local governments in matters regarding metropolitan and rural cable
television services.
