Transportation System Plan
TransPlan
guides regional transportation system planning and development
in the Eugene-Springfield metropolitan area. The plan includes provisions
for meeting the transportation demand of residents and through travelers
through the year 2021 while addressing transportation issues and
making changes that can contribute to improvements in the region’s
quality of life and economic vitality.
Transportation
is one of the key contributors to the Eugene-Springfield region’s
quality of life and economic viability. Generally, the need for
transportation stems from the need to access goods, services, and
other people within and beyond the region. The ease by which citizens
are able to get from home to school, to a job, to medical services,
to shopping and back again is dependent upon the efficiency and
effectiveness of the region’s transportation system.
Amendments
to TransPlan were most recently adopted in July 2002. The
files that comprise the full document as amended are available in

Prior to the
2002 amendments, a fully updated version of TransPlan was
adopted in December 2001. The 2001 version of TransPlan
