Eugene, Oregon – A regional bus service is now coordinating with Amtrak to make booking trips from the Willamette Valley to the central Oregon coast a little bit easier. Link Lane began providing bus service from Eugene to Florence in February 2020, adding to its other route that travels roundtrip between Florence and Yachats.

“You can now buy our Link Lane tickets for the Eugene to Florence route as part of your Amtrak ticket. And it’s all done in one transaction,” said Kelly Clarke, transportation planner at Lane Council of Governments, which manages Link Lane. “We’re working on being able to do that with the Florence to Yachats segment. Amtrak is an amazing partner!” Tickets may also be purchased with exact change when boarding the bus.

The Eugene-Florence route runs twice a day, seven days a week, except on Federally designated holidays. It begins at the Eugene Amtrak Station and stops include the downtown Eugene Transit Station, Veneta, Mapleton, Three Rivers Casino, Old Town Florence and the Florence Grocery Outlet. The Florence-Yachats Connector route, which runs Monday through Saturday, begins at the Florence Grocery Outlet with stops at Carl G. Washburne State Park and downtown Yachats.

Tickets cost $5 one way between Eugene and Florence. Between Mapleton and Florence, it costs just $1. Florence-Yachats Connector tickets are $2.50 one way. The buses can carry bicycles and are also wheelchair accessible. At this time, all riders are required to wear a face mask to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
