Oregon’s Get There Challenge this October is a timely reason to drive less by using transportation options and working remotely for the chance to win prizes and get recognized. New this year, teams across Oregon will compete to win prizes.

From October 1-15, 2023,  participants can join an already existing community or worksite team, or create a team of up to 10 friends, neighbors, and/or coworkers. Teams will compete by logging trips taken by bike, foot, carpool, vanpool, and transit, and remote work days.

Anyone age 18 or older who lives and/or works in Oregon can join or create a team to compete in the Get There Challenge by visiting GetThereOregon.org/Challenge.

Now in its 11th year, the Get There Challenge has helped reduce traffic and emissions across the state, helping make Oregon a better place to live, work, and play. Last year, more than 1,800 participants logged 46,000 transportation options trips and remote work days, totaling a reduction of more than 465,000 drive-alone miles.

The Get There Challenge is sponsored by Cafe Yumm, River City Bicycles, Powell’s Books, Clever Cycles, Next Adventure, Ruffwear, Bob’s Red Mill, Transportation Options Group of Oregon, and Commute with Enterprise. The Challenge is powered by Get There Connect, a trip planning and ride-matching tool. Get There is a program of the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), promoted locally by Lane Council of Governments (LCOG). In partnership with other local sponsors, LCOG is proud to offer additional prize opportunities for Challenge participants who live in Lane County.
