Senior Services Advisory Council

Overview

The Senior Services Advisory Council advises the Lane Council of Governments Board of Directors and agency staff on services provided by Senior and Disability Services (S&DS). The council also advises on the general welfare of older adults in Lane County and all other important matters affecting the administration of S&DS except for matters of personnel administration, staff pay and benefits.

The council is composed of 15 to 23 members representative of various parts of Lane County, including rural and urban areas. Over half the members must be 60 years of age or older.

Council Membership

New member recruitment for the Council occurs annually, typically in late spring or early summer. The Council is composed of seniors age 60 and older, professionals that work with seniors, and advocates for seniors or aging related issues.
